I am a graduate of the NLP training and an adult stutterer.. any improvement I have had comes from Toastmasters and not caring about my stutter.. I just talk and whatever happens happens. Many people do not realize that I stutter. This comes from just from having a positive perspective and practicing at Toastmasters.

I'm not sure about the quality of this information. it seems fairly thorough, but I don't trust articles written in such poor English. was this article composed by someone whose native language is not English?

For example, the word "permissible: in the following sentence is completely incorrect and makes the sentence non-sensical:
If a child suffers from this disorder, it is permissible that the parents are the ones actively seeking solutions. I think the writer mean "likely," but I'm not certain.

Great advice for parents. It is important to start treament of stuttering at an age where it can most likely be treated sucessfully.

However, if it does continue, there is hope. As a person who stutters, I find that emotional support is just as important as therapy for our stuttering (if not more important). To meet other people who stutter who can relate to our emotions and experiences with stuttering helps us accept our stuttering more than anything else. I am a member of The National Stuttering Association (NSA - www.westutter.org), which is the largest self-help non-profit organization for people who stutter in the country. The NSA offers several programs which provides the opportunity for people who stutter to meet and interact with other people who stutter at local kids and adult chapter meetings, workshops and annual conferences in which over 600 people who stutter (including kids and teens) attend each year! This year they are celebrating 33 years! Conferences in recent years have included such keynote speakers as Vice President Joe Biden, Arthur Blank (Owner, Atlanta Falcons), Adrian Peterson (Chicago Bears), Annie Glenn, John Melendez and John Stossel. They all shared truly amazing stories.

To learn more, pls contact them at: www.westutter.org, info@westutter.org or 1-800-937-8888
